Hi! I’m Schrei205, or just Schrei. It is pronounced “shrye”, like rye bread with a “sh” in front. It is the German word for scream, which I originally chose as the name for my blood elf priest in World of Warcraft, and chose to carry with me as my internet identity from then on. My interest in the German language is due to being a huge fan of the genre Neue Deutsche Härte. I started listening to Rammstein at 11 years old when I received a mixed CD from a friend with two of their songs, and I’ve been hooked since.

I stream, play games, cosplay, run panels, and write long articles about my opinions.

I’ve been streaming since about 2011, and initially started just to broadcast my World of Warcraft raids with my guild, Pie Chart. I raided with Pie Chart for about three years at a top 10-15 US level, and streamed as much of it as I could. Once I went casual, it felt only natural to continue streaming as I transitioned into cosplay. Almost my entire cosplay journey has been streamed in some form, and most of my builds have been primarily worked on on stream.

I’m not much of a variety gamer these days with my limited free time, so I spend most of my time on my true love, World of Warcraft. I currently raid and guild lead for a group of wonderful people. I’m also a huge fan of Halo, with that really being where my gaming roots fully formed.

I originally got into cosplay around 2012, and created my first “big build” for Blizzcon 2013. Since then, I have made quite a few costumes from League of Legends and World of Warcraft, and won awards in cosplay competitions with those costumes. I enjoy cosplay for the craftsmanship aspect and the pure love for a fandom that we all get to share when cosplaying.

I run a few panels at local conventions on my own, and have been on panels for multiple friends and organizations. The panels I currently run on my own are Wonderful World of Worbla and How to Make Big Cosplay Props.

When writing, I prefer to write opinion pieces on issues affecting either the games I care about or the cosplay community. I tend to get a bit wordy, however. My writing is currently all published on The Geek Lyfe

Contrary to what my hobbies may make you think, I’m actually very much an introvert. I treasure my quiet time, and often am happiest sitting around at home with my boyfriend and my cat. Cosplay allows me to open up beyond that, but it’s always a bit of a challenge.
